Overview
Before any flammable gas is safely introduced into a pipeline or equipment, it is necessary to remove oxygen. This is the purpose of nitrogen purging- to displace the system with inert nitrogen to reduce the oxygen concentration to safe levels.
We purge pipelines, equipment and gas handling networks of all sizes, and it is considered an accepted method for safe commissioning and maintenance.
Importance of Nitrogen Purging
Purging eliminates the possibilities of:
- Air to mix with flammable gas (risk of explosion)
- Moisture to enter the system
- Contamination of product gas
- Unsafe start-up hazards
It is extremely important to follow these procedures before the startup, shutdown & maintenance.
